100k Freeroll Recap: Gameweek 17
It was a disappointing weekend in the standard Footstock contests for the usually consistent maddogbeast, but they made up for it by taking the weekly prize in the Footstock 100k Freeroll. A fantastic way to start the new year, with a Footstock FC shirt and £250 on their way to MDB. Find out how they did it below!

Gameweek 17 Team of the Week ⚽
While many of this season’s weekly winners in the 100k Freeroll have claimed their prize with only ten or even nine players making an appearance, maddogbeast had to rely on consistent performances throughout his eleven in what was a high-scoring weekend overall.
Son and Kane have been among the most reliable duos this season, and they did the business again with a goal and assist apiece against Leeds. Mad Dog has brought together lots of exciting English talent in this side: in addition to Kane, Saka, Maddison and Eze all contributed goals this weekend, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka providing an assist.
With every team member hitting double figures, the total score of 337.12 was enough to hold off competitors who had included some of the weekend’s other top scorers, such as the Arsenal duo of Tierney and Lacazette, who both posted scores of 60+ with impressive performances against West Brom.
Kammy Watch 👀
Unlike our weekly champion, Footstock ambassador Chris Kamara was some way off a full complement in gameweek 17, with none of Nick Pope, Liam Cooper, Virgil van Dijk or Nicolas Pepe making an appearance.
Under those circumstances, it was always unlikely to be one of Kammy’s top six gameweeks, and so it proved. Son’s 50+ score was the only real highlight for Team Kammy this weekend, with Vardy’s 21.1 and 17 apiece from Sterling and Mane the next-best totals. That resulted in an overall weekly score of just 135.53, which has done nothing for Chris’s position in the leaderboard. But with Ziyech returning to fitness, hopefully there are better times ahead.
And of course, that is the beauty of the tournament – it only takes six big scores between now and the end of the season for any team to bag the ultimate prize. Believe in the unbelievable, Kammy!
After a pause for FA Cup action, there are more gameweek prizes up for grabs next midweek, and of course throughout the whole season. And don’t forget, the winner of the top prize of £25,000 will be based on a team’s top 6 gameweeks – so you can enter at any point up to gameweek 32 and still be in with a chance of a first-place finish in the Footstock 100k Freeroll!
